Tungsten Carbide preforms for the Toolmaking Industry

Hardmet Associates has long been considered one of the industry's premium suppliers of Tungsten Carbide Tool and Die Preforms.

Because of their outstanding material quality and purity, our preforms give excellent performance in tough stamping, lamination, extruding, powder compacting, drawing, forming and cold heading applications.

Our engineers work with tool and die makers and end users to select the optimal Tungsten Carbide grade (or custom-designed special composition) for specific applications. Components are produced up to 310mm in diameter and 510mm long.

Rectangular and round shapes are made with bolt holes, brazed steel plugs and special cutouts. Die blanks for wire or conventional EDM are sintered in with or without start holes. All die metal used for EDM is subjected to a proprietary stress-relieving process. The procedure prevents stress related material failure during EDM. High pressure HIP is available for most parts.
