and Synthetic Gem Material manufacturing plant in Portugal, together with Associate Companies in Germany, Italy, USA, Canada, and China.Portugal Plant
Providing a very broad range in the manufacture of Tungsten Carbide indexable metalcutting inserts and tooling, manufactured using the latest rotary presses, together with HIP furnaces, then ground to high tolerance and coated by our in-house coating facility.
Specialist in OEM design and manufacture contracts. The plant also excels in the production of Tungsten Carbide and Composite wearparts, as sintered or finished ground.
German Plant
Tungsten Carbide components for the Woodworking and Composite Industries - planner blades, profile knives and turnover knives with a performance-proven track record.
Technical Ceramic and Synthetic Gem Material components manufactured for various high tech Industries.
Italy Plant
Manufacturing of Tungsten Carbide as sintered and ground rods, rotary tools, Mining and Construction Industry tools.
USA Plant
Specialising in the manufacturing of Tungsten Carbide medium to large size near net shape preform as sintered components. Slots, angles, steps, radius, projections, holes and threads - whatever your requirements, Hardmet can design and produce it, pressed and machined by state of the art equipment.
Products include - rods and burrs, rotary tools, nozzles, valves, bearings, fluid handling components, Oil and Energy Industry components, blades and rolls.
Canadian Plant
Specialising in the manufacture of wood and metalcutting saw tips, produced in Tungsten Carbide and Stellite materials - available pre-brazed, providing constant long wearing reliable tooling. Also debarking heads for the Timber Industry.
China Plant
Specialising in the manufacture of Tungsten Carbide high volume component parts, with very quick on-time deliveries. Products are mechanically pressed by specially designed equipment and sintered in HIP furnaces.

A senior Sales and Marketing Executive with 36 years experience with world class companies and extensive management and project experience in the Hard Materials Industry.
David Trickett is trained and qualified as an Aerospace Engineer. He is an effective planner and an articulate and confident presenter of ideas and information. He is an individual of high integrity, innovative and a lateral thinker in identifying and capitalising on new opportunities.
Management experience
David has over 30 years experience of successful bidding and management of commercial contracts for both UK and overseas industrial partnerships. He has wide experience of management in a project environment, with financial and contractual control of major projects to the value of £2.5million.
International experience
David has extensive worldwide experience - in the USA, Far East and Europe, representing Hardmet Associates at senior level. He is culturally aware, successfully negotiating overseas with customers and suppliers.
Expertise
David has 50 years hands-on experience of all types of materials - metals, wood , composites, paper/card - and how they machine with optimum results.
Additionally, he has experience of using Ultra Hard Materials - such as Tungsten carbide, Technical Ceramics and Synthetic Gem Materials - in replacement wear part applications, to greatly extend the useful life of components and assemblies.
Industries he has worked with include - petrol, chemical & gas; partical reduction; mining/stone; water and waste; materials recycling; food and drink; wood and forestry; valves and rolling/shaping of materials.
David Holmes
A senior Sales and Technical Executive with 35 years experience with world class companies and extensive management and project experience in the Hardmetal and Machine Tools Industries.
David Holmes trained and qualified as a Production Engineer in the Machine Tool sector. He is an effective
planner, developer and presenter of ideas and solutions. An individual with a reputation for honesty,
integrity, a forward thinker able to identify and capitalise on new opportunities.
Management experience
David has over 30 years in bidding and the management of commercial contracts for both UK and international companies. He has wide experience in project management, with financial, technical and contractual control of major long term projects with values in excess of £3million in Machine Tools, Tool Management and Fluid Management Contracts.
International experience
David has extensive worldwide experience in Europe, USA and the Far East, representing Hardmet Associates and his former companies at the highest levels. He has successfully negotiated, with major UK and overseas companies, both for supply and distribution contacts.
Expertise
David has wide experience of many types of materials including; metals, wood, stone, minerals, green waste, composites and paper, and how they machine or process with optimum results, gained over years of Applications Engineering, both in the workshop and on site.
Additionally he has experience of using Ultra Hard Materials such as Tungsten carbide, Cermets, Technical Ceramics and Synthetic Gem Materials in replacement wear part applications, to greatly extend the useful life of components and assemblies.
